Planning a destination wedding? Include an "accommodations" card in your invitation.

3 more elements of a full wedding invitation suite

We recently discussed on this blog the most important components of a wedding invitation suite — save-the-date cards, ceremony invitations, reception invitations, RSVP cards and, of course, matching custom envelopes. However, many couples choose to include several additional elements in their invitation suite, for both practical and stylistic reasons.

  • Accommodations: Consider including an accommodations card to your out-of-town guests, listing suggested hotels near the wedding venue. If you are having a destination wedding or are expecting a lot of non-residential guests, you might even secure a group rate from one or two choice hotels.
  • Directions: Make it easy for your guests to find the wedding and reception venues by providing them with a map and clear directions. Remember, just because this aspect of your invitation suite is practical does not mean it should stray from the overall aesthetic. For an extra special touch, consider hiring an artist to draw or paint a custom map on your signature wedding stationery.
  • Inner and outer envelopes: We offer three wedding suites in our SAVOY line with matching inner and outer envelopes. Couples can opt for inner envelopes that are gummed or ungummed, depending on their preference.

Remember that your wedding invitation suite should feature one cohesive design strategy, with high-quality cotton paper and perhaps a vellum paper accent. For the former, we recommend Reich Paper's perennially popular SAVOY series, now available in a chic grey as well as several shades of bridal white. Our bridal customers also love the ODEON paper, which comes in an array of colors. For the latter, our CT line of sheer vellum paper boasts unsurpassed clarity.
